Legislation establishing the State Court for the German Reich is adopted. With this, the Reichstag gains the right to take the Reich government and the Reichspräsident to this court for violating the constitution.

Carl Trimborn, party and parliamentary group chair of the Center Party, dies in Bonn. He was also president of the People’s Association for Catholic Germany.

Adolf Hitler is appointed the first chairman of the NSDAP. By threatening to leave the party, Adolf Hitler, who has now become indispensable for the party, forces it to elect him as party chairman with dictatorial powers. This enables Hitler to gradually organize party structures on the basis of the “Führerprinzip” (leader principle).
