After attempts to form a government had dragged on for a good deal of time, a cabinet comprised entirely of social democrats takes office in Saxony under Minister-President Erich Zeigner. The KPD in Saxony had previously agreed to support a socialist government.

Riots take place in Essen between the French military and Krupp company workers. Thirteen workers are killed by the French soldiers and 41 are wounded. A French court fines Gustav Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach and some of his employees and sentences them to a long prison term. The commanding French officer goes unpunished.
